Raed Mualem, (Ph.D., M.Sc., M.H.A., M.A., LL.B)

Dr. Mualem completed his undergraduate studies in biology (B.Sc). He also holds master's degrees in science (M.Sc), educational leadership (M.A), and management and health administration (M.H.A), Bachelor of Laws  (LL.B.) along with a doctoral degree in life science—all awarded by Tel Aviv University. He completed post-doctoral work in biochemistry at CNRS in France and went on to teach courses such as human biology, Brain development and Human Health and animal physiology for Graduate and Undergraduate students at Oranim Academic College of Education, and  Since September 2019 he serve as Department Head of Natrural and Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Education. He served as vice president of Mar Elias Educational Institutions from 2002-2009, directing a dynamic K-12 school system and managing the Mar Elias Campus that would become NAI .
Dr. Mu’alem previously served as vice president Mar Elias Educational Institutions from 2002-2009, directing a dynamic K-12 school system. Dr. Mu’alem participated in the U.S. State Department’s International Leadership Program in 2004.  
Raed Mualem has spent a decade working to establish Nazareth Academic Institute—the first institution of higher education established at the initiative of the Arab community in Israel. As the institute’s senior vice president (2011-2015)  Dr. Mualem leads the development of new academic programs and international partnerships as well as the institute’s planning process.Originally established as a branch campus of the U.S.-based University of Indianapolis, Nazareth Academic Institute (NAI) opened in 2003 as the Mar Elias Campus in Ibillin. The campus offered baccalaureate degrees in communications, computer science and environmental science/chemistry and graduated 228 students. In January 2009 the final graduating class of the Mar Elias Campus received their degrees, and in March 2009 NAI received formal accreditation from the Israeli government as an official Israeli institute of higher education. NAI began its first year as an independent Israeli institution on 1 November 2010, offering baccalaureate degrees in communications and chemistry from its new Nazareth campus. In November 2014 the council for Higher education made a decision on the proposal to regulate the status of the Nazareth Academic Institute to be operated as public academic college under the auspices of the University of Haifa.  Dr Mualem worked with Texas A&M administration team to help and support the process to create a branch campus of Texas A&M university at Nazareth. Dr Mualem Established with Dr. Gerry Leisman the Institute for Brain & Rehabilitation Sciences In Nazareth.
